A welcoming Primary School in Bolton is seeking a caring and committed Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join their Key Stage 1 team. This full-time role involves providing tailored support to children with Special Educational Needs, helping them access learning, build confidence, and make progress in a nurturing environment.
The school is looking for someone calm, patient, and proactive, with a genuine passion for supporting young learners and contributing to a positive classroom atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with additional needs in Year 1
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities
Adapt tasks and resources to meet individual learning needs
Support children's social, emotional, and academic development
Contribute to maintaining a safe, happy, and inclusive learning environment
Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and parents
Requirements:
Experience supporting children with SEN (Autism, speech & language needs, or SEMH experience desirable)
A patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine interest in supporting children's early learning and development
Level 2/3 TA qualification preferred but not essential for the right person
