Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Bolton, supporting students with autism and behavioural needs.

Role Details:
You will be supporting KS2 students with autism and related complex needs. The role requires patience, flexibility, and strong communication skills to help create a supportive learning environment tailored to the needs of these students.

The School:
A primary school that provides education for children from Reception (ages 4-5) through to Year 6 (ages 10-11).

About the Students:
All students in the class have additional complex medical conditions or are diagnosed with Autism. The student body is diverse, representing various ethnic backgrounds, cultures, and faiths.

Effective Approaches for Supporting Children with Autism:
PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System): Helps non-verbal children communicate using pictures.
Makaton: Uses signs and symbols alongside speech to support communication.
Speech-Generating Devices & Visual Tools: iPads, communication boards, visual schedules, and social stories to aid interaction and routine.

Requirements:
Experience working with SEN students (Autism and behavioural needs)
Child and Adult DBS (Enhanced Disclosure)
Right to Work in the UK
