Hays Education are working with a primary school in Bootle that is looking for an SEN 1:1 teaching assistant to join them from September. This will be a full-time, long-term role until the end of the year.Your new role

The role as an SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant job involves working with a pupil in year 3 with ASD and learning difficulties. You will be supporting them within the classroom, and occasionally outside the classroom when needed. It will involve supporting with work, de-escalating behaviour, identifying triggers and working on a 1:1 basis.The working hours are 08:30-15:30, and it is 5 days a week until July 2026.What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this role, you will need a full DBS on the update service of the relevant documents to apply for one as well as:

  • Full right to work in the UK
  • 2+ years working in a school/with children
  • Previous experience working with children with ASD
  • Experience identifying triggers and de-escalating behaviour
  • Knowledge of SEN
