Are you a patient and passionate Maths Tutor looking to make a real difference?

We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Maths Tutor to support a young learner in Botley for 4 hours per week. The learner has been diagnosed with global learning delay and dyscalculia, and is currently struggling with confidence in Maths. Your role will be to build their understanding, boost their self-esteem, and help them work towards sitting their GCSE Maths in two years' time.

As a Tutor you will:

    • Deliver 1:1 Maths tuition tailored to the learner's individual needs and learning style.
    • Focus on building confidence, foundational skills, and long-term academic progress.
    • Create engaging, practical, and accessible lesson plans.
    • Track progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.

About you:

    • Experience working with learners with SEND, particularly global learning delay and/or dyscalculia.
    • A background in teaching or tutoring Maths at KS3/GCSE level.
    • A calm, encouraging, and flexible approach to learning.
    • Experience with the English curriculum is a plus, as additional support may be needed in the future.
    • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

      • Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL


      • Trauma-informed and skilled in de-escalation and emotional regulation strategies- Desirable

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

  • Hold right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references upon request
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
