KM Recruitment is a specialist UK wide recruiter for the Skills and Employability sectors.Job Title: Training and Development Specialist (Defence Communications)Location: Dorset - Office basedSalary: £45,000Type: Full time, FTC (until August 2026) Duties:Our client is looking to appoint a Training and Development specialist, to support in the development of delivery for a brand-new military communications system, across: Training Design, Training Media Development and Training Delivery. 
  • Design, develop and implement innovative training documentation, including (but not limited to): Formal Training Statements; Development of the Individual and collective training objectives; Development of Enabling Objectives; Development of KLPs; Production of Assessment Strategy/Specification; Selection of Methods and Media; Development of LScalar and LSpecs.
  • Ensure that all training materials are compliant with the Defence Direction and Guidance for Training and Education.
  • To deliver instructor-led training sessions, to validate the effectiveness of the developed training. 
Essential Criteria:
  • Must hold experience within a similar Training and Development Specialist role, within the Defence sector.
  • Hold, or be willing to work towards, the Defence Instructional Techniques (DCTS) - or hold equivalent qualification. 
  • Experience of CIS (Communications and Information Systems) engineering principles.
  • Must possess the ability to instruct Phase 3 trainees in CIS.
  • Must be able to operate, configure and maintain a range of CIS equipment.
  • Must hold a minimum of 5 years' experience within a curriculum development role, with experience of creating engaging and innovative content,. 
  • Must possess a sound knowledge of Engineering qualifications and Apprenticeships,  
  • Must have experience of coaching, mentoring and supporting colleagues.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with key stakeholders.
