Your new role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function on a major 18 million healthcare infrastructure project based in Bournemouth. This is a contract opportunity paying 350 to 400 per day, offering a high-impact role with real responsibility for commercial oversight and strategic delivery across the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Full commercial management of a live 18m healthcare construction project.

  • Leading cost control, procurement, subcontractor management, and valuations.

  • Managing change control procedures and ensuring contractual compliance.

  • Working closely with project management, design, and delivery teams.

  • Forecasting and monitoring project budgets, cash flow, and financial reporting.

  • Advising on contract disputes, risk management, and claims mitigation.

  • Supporting final accounts negotiation and project closeout.

  • Ensuring all commercial processes align with company and client expectations.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor on major projects (10m+), ideally within the healthcare or public sector.

  • Strong knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts.

  • Excellent negotiation, cost management, and reporting skills.

  • Ability to lead and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Chartered status (MRICS) or working towards it is desirable but not essential.

  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel and commercial software tools.
