What You'll Do
- Design probing and handling mechanisms
- Produce detailed drawings to BS8888 standards for manufacturing
- Manage mechanical design within project cost constraints
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Liaise directly with clients on mechanical requirements and specifications
- Source components, create accurate parts lists, and manage supplier relationships
- Support factory and site acceptance testing with customers
- Work within ISO procedures for documentation and change control
What We Need
- 2+ years mechanical design experience
- Formal mechanical engineering qualification (2:1 degree or equivalent)
- Experience with machined components, sheet metal fabrication, and welded structures
- Knowledge of 19" rack systems and assembly techniques
- 3D CAD experience (Solid Edge preferred but not essential)
- Strong understanding of materials and manufacturing processes
- Security clearance requirements apply
