Mechanical Supervisor – Bournemouth Contract Full-Time

We’re working with a leading UK infrastructure and utilities contractor who are seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join their Natural Resources, Nuclear, and Networks team on an ongoing contract basis, based on-site in Bournemouth.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the safe and efficient delivery of essential infrastructure projects in the water sector.

Contract: Ongoing Contract, Full-Time

The Role

As a Mechanical Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for supervising and managing on-site operational resources, ensuring all work is delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll lead subcontractors, support commissioning, and drive performance across a range of mechanical works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise subcontractors and direct labour, ensuring high-quality and safe delivery of works

  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and day-to-day direction to the site team

  • Monitor progress, performance, and productivity to meet project targets

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues within treatment plant systems and equipment

  • Oversee maintenance and repair of mechanical assets

  • Liaise with supply chain partners to support delivery, testing, and commissioning activities

About You

This role is ideal if you have:

  • Proven experience in a Mechanical Supervisor role within the water, utilities, or process engineering sectors

  • Strong background managing subcontractors and multi-trade teams on active sites

  • Recognised mechanical qualification with SSSTS or SMSTS certification

  • A proactive approach to health, safety, and quality

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
