Job Title: Part-time Support Worker

About the Role:
As a Support Worker in a specialist SEND setting, you will assist pupils with a wide range of needs, including autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, and complex learning needs. Your support will enable students to access the curriculum, develop social skills, and build confidence in a nurturing environment.
Your key Responsibilities will include:
- Provide individualised care and classroom support tailored to pupils' specific SEND requirements.
- Assist with personal care, physical mobility, and emotional regulation when required.
- Help implement learning activities and behaviour management strategies set by the class teacher and SEN staff.
- Foster positive relationships and encourage independence and engagement.
- Support students during transitions, lunch/break times, and off-site activities where needed.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all learners.
The Successful Candidate should have:
- Previous experience supporting individuals with SEND in school, residential, or care settings is highly desirable.
- A caring and patient approach with excellent communication skills.
- An understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to promoting the welfare of vulnerable children.
- Relevant qualifications in care, support work, or SEND education are beneficial but not essential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
