Are you passionate about making a difference in children's lives? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Bournemouth. This is a full-time role, starting immediately, ideal for someone who thrives in inclusive educational environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with a range of special educational needs (SEN), including learning delays and behavioural challenges
- Assist in delivering tailored learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment
- Provide one-to-one and small group support
- Help pupils develop confidence, independence, and social skills
Requirements:
- Experience working with children in an educational or care setting
- Understanding of SEN, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
- A proactive and flexible approach to supporting pupils' individual needs
Desirable:
- Experience in Key Stage 1 or 2
- Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support
