Abatec are partnered with a Regional Civil Engineering contractor, who specialise in the utilities sector, based in Devon with a turnover of circa 30m. Our client is a sub-contractor, to Tier 1 Contractors across the South West Water Framework and have also been successful on a National Grid Framework which will give them security of work over the next 5+ years.

As a Site Manager, you will be delivering water and wastewater infrastructure network improvements across the South West region. This will be as part of the R&M team delivering urgent repairs between 1k - 500k in value.

As Site Manager you will:

  • Oversee the day-to-day site activities, ensuring safe and efficient project execution.
  • Support and drive continuous improvement within the project delivery team.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
  • Work closely with the client, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain strong relationships.
  • Monitor project progress, managing budgets and schedules effectively.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to avoid project delays and cost overruns.
  • Lead site teams and foster a positive, safety-focused working environment.

Our client requires a Site Manager with:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager in the water, utilities, or civil engineering sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations (SMSTS & CSCS required).
  • Experience delivering reactive maintenance/small works
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Salary/Benefits:

  • 45,000 - 55,000 per annum
