GRADUATE CAD DESIGN ENGINEER

This is a really exciting role for a Graduate to join a superb niche engineering company at their new modern site in Bradford.

Responsible for creating detailed designs and technical drawings for systems and components using CAD software (Autodesk Inventor).

RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a varied technical role with full training.

Involving designing new or modifying existing products to normal engineering standards, ensuring compliance with the product specification in terms of function, cost and ease of manufacture.

Youl will prepare 3D Models, Assemblies, Technical Drawings for the clients and production teams.

  • Create range of BIM models suitable for inputting into Revit
  • Hands on building and testing of designed prototypes and supporting production on building new products
  • Maintain Detailed Design History Files, Project Reports and track design changes
  • Support production and quality engineers in identifying manufacturing issues and implementing corrective solutions
  • Support in the modification of Bills of Materials (SAP) for new and existing products.
  • Generate and implement cost reduction ideas in line with departmental objectives
  • Contribute to improving design processes
  • Liaise with all internal and external parties such as purchasing, manufacturing, suppliers, customers and other engineers to ensure actions are completed to plan.
  • Maintain good working practices regarding safety and housekeeping.
  • Provide product support to other departments.
  • Comply with the companies ISO9001 and ISO40001 management systems

SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES

  • Mechanical Design is essential, and some Electrical knowledge is preferred but training will be provided
  • Use of Inventor or other 3D Design Packages
  • Must be computer literate including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent Organisational and Communication skills
  • Motivated, Attention to detail, good communications skills and ability to cope under pressure
  • Full driving Licence Preferred
