In this position you will be second in command in our kitchen, following and enforcing our head chef's requirements and guidelines.
Our ideal candidate is a creative professional who is willing to go the extra mile and willing to participate in creating delicious seasonal menu's.
Your duties will include responding to customer issues, developing new menu options. You should have excellent communications skills with an in-depth knowledge of several cooking technic's, ingredients, equipment and processes.
Responsibilities:
Develop new menu options based on seasonal changes and customer demand.
Assist with the preparation and presentation of meals.
Ensure the kitchen operates in a timely manner.
Resolve customer problems and concerns personally.
Monitor and record inventory and if necessary order new supplies.
Provide support to junior kitchen employees with various tasks including food preparation, cooking and food presentation.
Adhere to and implement sanitation regulations and safety regulations.
Manage the kitchen team in the head chef's absence.
Qualifications:
Relevant cookery qualification.
Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment and best practices.
Excellent teamwork and good leadership skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
