Planning Supervisor

Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire
Hours: Monday to Friday
Salary: Up to £55,000 + Benefits
Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role:

A leading manufacturing organisation is seeking a Planning Supervisor to lead and develop planning processes and teams across material, production, and demand planning. This role is critical in ensuring accurate scheduling, resource allocation, and strategic capacity planning to meet operational and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning & Compliance

  • Oversee material, production, and demand planning activities to ensure alignment with customer requirements and business goals
  • Maintain compliance with planning standards and company policies
  • Conduct audits and ensure accurate data integrity within SAP systems

Systems & Data Management

  • Utilise SAP PP, MM, and SD modules for planning and scheduling
  • Analyse complex datasets and translate insights into actionable business decisions

Performance & Delivery

  • Monitor planning KPIs including OTIF and capacity utilisation
  • Lead cross-functional meetings to align production schedules with operational priorities

Continuous Improvement

  • Champion LEAN principles and lead improvement projects with measurable ROI
  • Identify and implement process enhancements to optimise planning efficiency

People Leadership

  • Manage and develop a team of planners, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
  • Influence stakeholders across all levels, from shop floor to senior leadership

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 3–5 years’ supervisory/team leadership experience in planning or operations
  • 5+ years manufacturing planning (material, production, demand)
  • Strong SAP expertise (PP, MM, SD); configuration knowledge desirable
  • Advanced Excel; SQL highly desirable
  • Proven data analysis and strategic decision-making skills
  • Experience leading cross-functional improvement projects
  • Lean Six Sigma preferred
  • Strategic, resilient, able to manage competing priorities
