Business Development Manager (Food & Beverage Manufacturing)
  • Location: Office-based (UK) with occasional travel
  • Reports to: Head of Sales

My Client is seeking a proactive and highly organised Business Development Manager to support their commercial growth in the Food & Beverage Manufacturing sector. The primary objective of this role is to identify and secure qualified appointments with key decision-makers across the UK and Ireland, facilitating high-value meetings for our Head of Sales.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Lead Generation: Identify and research potential clients within the food and beverage manufacturing industry using various tools, platforms, and databases.
  • Appointment Setting: Secure meetings with plant directors, operations leads, and other senior stakeholders on behalf of the Head of Sales.
  • CRM Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of prospects, call outcomes, and scheduled appointments in the company CRM.
  • Outreach Campaigns: Execute outbound calling, email, and LinkedIn outreach strategies to effectively engage prospects.
  • Stakeholder Qualification: Ensure leads are appropriately qualified before scheduling meetings, using clear criteria agreed with the Head of Sales.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, challenges, and key players in the food and beverage manufacturing sector.
  • Reporting: Provide regular progress reports and meeting conversion metrics to sales leadership.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in business development, inside sales, or appointment setting—ideally within the food & beverage, FMCG, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Comfortable speaking with senior executives and presenting the company’s value proposition with confidence.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and lead generation tools.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of the food and beverage manufacturing landscape in the UK and Ireland.
  • Experience working closely with or supporting a Head of Sales or senior commercial leader.
  • Prior experience in B2B sales environments.
