About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our growing finance team within a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone confident with numbers, passionate about accuracy, and ready to take ownership of supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the purchase ledger: post invoices, reconcile supplier statements, and prepare payment runs
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
- Negotiate trade terms to achieve best value and favourable payment conditions
- Collaborate with production teams to resolve supplier issues and support seamless operations
- Assist with month-end finance tasks and support the wider finance team as needed
- Respond promptly to invoice discrepancies and supplier queries
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with internal financial procedures
Key Skills & Experience
- Experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role (manufacturing experience is a plus)
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage 50) and Microsoft Excel
- Team-oriented with a proactive, can-do attitude
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, hands-on environment
