Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: Lead Practitioner Pay Scale (London Fringe) £50,807 – £56,082 per annum
Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier by negotiation)
Are you an exceptional Science teacher with the vision and drive to raise standards and support staff development? We are seeking a talented Lead Practitioner of Science to join our ambitious and forward-thinking secondary school in Essex.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate science educator to play a central role in improving teaching and learning, both within the Science department and across the wider school. You will be a role model for outstanding practice, lead on professional development, and support strategic initiatives to raise achievement.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development and implementation of excellent teaching strategies in Science.

Coach, mentor and support staff to improve practice and raise student outcomes.

Work collaboratively with the Head of Science and SLT on curriculum innovation and assessment.

Drive whole-school improvement through research-informed teaching and learning.

Inspire students through high-quality teaching and a passion for science education.

Has a proven track record of outstanding teaching in Science (any discipline).

Is experienced in coaching colleagues and delivering effective CPD.
