Senior Procurement Manager - Food Solutions

Location: Hybrid (UK) - 2 days home / 3 days office or travelSalary: £60,000 - £80,000 DOE + benefitsSector: Food Retail, Wholesale & Distribution

We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Procurement Manager to join the Food Solutions team of a well-established and fast-paced food retail, wholesale, and distribution company.In this high-profile role, you will take ownership of a key category group, and lead a team of 3 procurement professionals. You will drive sourcing strategy, supplier negotiations, and commodity buying, ensuring all sourcing meets cost, quality, sustainability, and responsible sourcing targets. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced food procurement leader who thrives in a hands-on, commercially focused, and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead supplier and commodity buying strategies across food service and food-to-go categories.
  • Manage key supplier and buying group relationships, driving value and securing long-term partnerships.
  • Oversee supplier negotiations, contract management, and income forecasting.
  • Lead and develop a team of 3 procurement professionals.
  • Collaborate closely with Trading, Product Development, Technical, Supply Chain, and other key functions.
  • Ensure sourcing aligns with responsible sourcing, ethical procurement, and sustainability standards.
  • Regular travel to suppliers, customers, and partners across the UK.
What We're Looking For:
  • Proven experience in food category procurement-specifically food service, food-to-go, ingredients, or finished products.
  • Strong commodity buying, supplier negotiation, and contract management experience.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and coaching procurement teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Passion for ethical sourcing, sustainability, and driving commercial value.
