About the Role:As a Junior Payroll Assistant, you’ll work closely with a friendly and experienced payroll team to support the delivery of accurate payroll services for a varied client base. You’ll gain exposure to multiple payrolls and benefit from excellent mentorship and structured development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:

Assisting with the preparation and processing of weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for multiple clients

Ensuring all statutory deductions (e.g. PAYE, NI, pensions) are applied correctly

Handling client queries via phone and email in a timely and professional manner

Supporting the submission of RTI (Real Time Information) to HMRC

Helping with auto-enrolment processes and pension administration
-
Maintaining accurate and confidential employee and client records

Assisting with year-end tasks including P60s and P11Ds
We’re looking for someone who is eager to learn and has some experience working in a payroll bureau environment, ideally within an accountancy practice setting.
You will ideally have:

Previous payroll experience, particularly in a bureau or multi-client environment

Familiarity with payroll software (e.g. BrightPay, Moneysoft, Sage Payroll) – training provided if needed

Strong attention to detail and a proactive, can-do attitude

Excellent organisational and communication skills
