The Finance Officer is responsible for managing income-related processes, including invoicing, contract management, credit control, and financial reporting, to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition. Description

  • Create precise sales invoices by gathering and verifying data according to invoicing schedules.
  • Match recorded support hours with contract terms to ensure accurate billing.
  • Collaborate with Locality Managers weekly to confirm hours of support provided for correct invoicing.
  • Address and resolve billing and payment issues with Local Authorities and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain high accuracy of contract information within the management system.
  • Utilise digital tools like Microsoft Excel and SharePoint to enhance finance process efficiency.
  • Contribute to the documentation and ongoing improvement of income operation procedures.
  • Perform credit control tasks in line with organisational policies to ensure timely debt collection.
  • Keep the sales ledger's outstanding days to an average of 25 days.
  • Accurately allocate and match incoming payments to minimise discrepancies.
  • Complete month-end closing tasks within 2 working days to support accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist in preparing monthly and year-end financial reports by providing precise income-related data.

Profile

The successful Finance Officer should have:

  • AAT qualifications are preferable, or similar.
  • Proven experience in a finance role within a not-for-profit organisation
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and legislation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • A strategic mindset and problem-solving skills
