We are a well-established and forward-thinking law firm based in Bristol. Looking to expand our friendly and supportive team with the addition of an experienced Commercial Property Legal Assistant.

In this office-based role, you’ll be responsible for Assisting the Commercial Property Team. It’s a great opportunity for someone with 1+ years of experience as a Property Legal Assistant who’s ready to take the next step in a collaborative and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Care & File Management:
    • Provide professional and courteous assistance to clients, both over the phone and in person, ensuring a high standard of client care.
    • Manage and organise client files related to commercial property transactions, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and accurately maintained.
  • Legal Support:
    • Draft and prepare legal documents such as contracts, leases, licences, and other documentation relating to commercial property matters.
    • Prepare attendance notes, correspondence, and other documents from dictation or instruction by Fee Earners.
    • Support with the preparation and submission of Land Registry applications and SDLT returns.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Handle general file administration and organisation, both electronically and paper-based.
    • Liaise with clients, estate agents, lenders, surveyors, and other external parties as necessary.
    • Prepare bills and assist with managing financial records and matter-related accounts.
    • Provide general administrative support to the Commercial Property department.
  • Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant professional, regulatory, and internal standards.
    • Follow internal policies and procedures, including those relating to anti-money laundering and data protection.
  • Communication:
    • Display excellent communication skills when dealing with clients, external organisations, and colleagues.
    • Accurately relay information and maintain clear, concise records of communications.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience as a Legal Assistant in Property either Commercial or Residential in a law firm (minimum 1+ years)
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in IT systems and legal software; experience with LEAP is an advantage.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A proactive attitude and effective problem-solving skills.
