On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit an Aerospace Project Manager - Fuel & Landing Gear on an initial 12-month contract. In this role, you will lead key activities within the Fuel and Landing Gear portfolio, managing work packages to meet time, cost, and quality targets. You will coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Customer Services, and external suppliers while supporting programme performance and effective cross-functional communication.

Pay: 35 per hour Via Umbrella
Location: Filton
Contract: Monday - Friday 35 hours per week, 12 months, 60% onsite
IR35 Status: Inside
Security Clearance: BPSS

Responsibilities

  • Leading and supporting all their activities within the Fuel / Landing Gear portfolio. The Deliver their work packages in line with the agreed schedules and budgets, ensuring the achievement of challenging time, cost, and quality objectives.
  • Ensure that processes are in place and implemented for effective project management and the direction of cross-functional teams. Key to achieving these deliverables is the external integration of Engineering, Chief engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Customer Services functions, as well as external supplier management (Landing Gear & Fuel System suppliers).
  • Provide regular progress reports and escalate issues requiring resolution across internal functions or with external suppliers.
  • Contribute to the yearly operating plan (budget) development and monthly financial outlook, reporting on activities within their area of responsibility. This will be achieved through regular reviews with Programme Management, the Chief Engineer's Team, and Engineering. Key end results include ensuring project costs remain within budgets, customer priorities and expectations are managed, and that development and modification projects are delivered to the declared target or POE (Point of Embodiment). This must be achieved while adopting a global 'best for business' management approach and adhering to Programme Management and Configuration Management processes

Essential Skills:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in project/programme management.
  • Experience in managing projects through the full project lifecycle.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment where priorities can change
  • Experience in facilitating, coordinating, and directing meetings.
  • Proven ability to manage suppliers.
  • An understanding of budget control.
  • Sound technical knowledge/experience allowing understanding of technical issues and challenges, as well as the specification, design, build, and test process.
  • Knowledge of configuration management.
  • Familiarity with ICC CADB or ICC ACP is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong team player.
  • Experience in delivering to time, cost, and quality objectives.
  • Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English (negotiation level).
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a transnationally managed environment.
  • Ability to influence and lead multi-functional teams.

  • This role may involve some business travel, and as such, the candidate must be able to travel both nationally and internationally as required.
