Our client, a leading consultancy in the water sector, is seeking a Senior/Principal Civil Design Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role focuses on non-infrastructure projects for major water utilities such as Welsh Water, Wessex Water, and Thames Water. The position is based either in Bristol or London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the design and implementation of civil engineering solutions for non-infrastructure water projects
- Collaborating with stakeholders from major water utilities to ensure project alignment and success
- Developing detailed design plans and specifications in compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Conducting site assessments and feasibility studies to inform project design
- Overseeing the preparation of technical reports and documentation
- Managing project resources and timelines to deliver projects within scope and budget
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies
Job Requirements:
- Experience in civil design engineering within the water sector
- Proficiency in developing and managing designs for non-infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations
- Excellent project management skills, including resource and time management
- Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation and reports
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced, contract-based environment
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
