We are looking to recruit a Team Leader to join our experienced and well established team. The role of a Team Leader with Avon Autistic Foundation is rewarding and, although experience would be an advantage it is not essential as we offer a full training package with ongoing support and opportunities to develop your career.

You will be joining a team working with service users with autism and learning disabilities in a friendly and unique environment where supported living is provided alongside a day programme allowing our service users to lead busy and active lives; you will provide person centered support to assist them in enjoying activities such as shopping, restaurant visits, days out the list is endless.
YOUR ROLE
  • Lead and mentor our care team to ensure our service users receive the best possible care
  • promoting independence
  • Accurate and detailed record keeping
  • A respect for confidentiality
  • To encourage and enable service users to make day to day choices
  • To support service users to develop relationships and to maintain contact with family and friends
  • To provide service users with support to maximize their independence and to develop social and life skills
  • Assisting with domestic tasks such as cooking, cleaning, washing and shopping
THE SUCCESSFUL TEAM LEADER WILL:
  • Have a positive attitude in order to develop supportive relationships with service users
  • Have good communication skills
  • Be flexible with the shifts you can work for example, you could work 9am-3.30pm or 3.30-11pm sleep
  • in finishing 9am or 3.30pm the following day; we provide 24/7 care 52 weeks per year including evenings and weekends
  • Have a high level of patience and emotional resilience
