Job description

Link3 is currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Room Leader to join a dynamic and supportive early years setting in Portishead (BS20). This role is ideal for someone with a passion for early childhood education and proven leadership experience within a nursery environment.

Location: BS20, Portishead
Working Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift Pattern: A mix of 8:00am–6:00pm and 7:30am–6:00pm shifts, with flexibility for a slightly later start if required
Salary:

  • £26,972.40 for 38 hours per week
  • £28,392 for 40 hours per week

(Salary will vary depending on agreed hours and shift pattern)
Bonus: £100 bonus paid upon successful placement through Link3

Role Overview:
As Room Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team within a designated room, delivering high-quality care and education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). You will work closely with senior management to support staff development, uphold safeguarding standards, and maintain an environment where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of early years practitioners
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate an engaging curriculum in accordance with the EYFS
  • Monitor the quality of teaching and care in your room, ensuring high standards are maintained
  • Build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents
  • Act as Deputy in the absence of the Nursery Leader
  • Support professional development and performance management within your team

Essential Requirements:

  • Level 4 or above qualification in Early Years or a relevant field
  • Minimum of two years’ leadership experience in an early years setting
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements
  • Ability to inspire and support a team to deliver outstanding practice
  • Enhanced DBS and satisfactory references
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
