Totum Partners is working with a leading law firm based in Bristol to recruit a Head of Working Capital, a newly created leadership role within the finance team. The Head of Working Capital will take responsibility for the firm’s global billing and collections functions, leading a team to deliver a consistent service. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of working capital operations in a firm committed to driving continuous improvement.
The ideal Head of Working Capital would be responsible for:
• Managing the day-to-day operations of the billing and collections teams• Implementing best practice processes to support efficient cash flow and reduce aged WIP and debt• Driving improvements in service delivery across the finance function• Supporting the rollout of new systems and processes as part of the Finance Transformation Programme• Coaching and developing team members through a period of change and growth• Building strong relationships across the partnership, legal teams and support staff• Acting as a key point of contact for working capital matters and contributing to wider finance initiatives
The ideal Head of Working Capital will have:
• Proven experience leading billing and collections functions in a professional services setting• Legal sector experience is highly desirable• A track record of delivering process improvement and team development• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills• A collaborative, hands-on approach and ability to influence at senior levels• Commercial awareness and a focus on delivering results• High levels of organisation and attention to detail• Strong knowledge of financial systems, with the confidence to become a subject matter expert
