Day-to-day of the role:

  • Conduct audit fieldwork both at client premises and in the office, taking full responsibility for all audit fieldwork of the team.
  • Prepare client deliverables, including Audit Findings Reports, and build strong relationships with clients.
  • Plan assignments, including budgeting and using analytical review.
  • Ensure files are complete for partner review and handle file completion where applicable.
  • Supervise, delegate, and review the work of Assistants as appropriate.
  • Actively involve in the professional and personal development of junior team members.
  • Prepare accounts under FRS102 and 1A and basic corporation tax computations.
  • Identify, research, and help resolve technical issues.
  • Develop a strong commercial understanding of clients' businesses and any developments within them.
  • Work collaboratively with other service lines across the business to benefit clients, referring opportunities where relevant and minimising risks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • ACA/ACCA part or fully qualified.
  • Minimum of 3 years recent audit experience in an accountancy practice.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of auditing and accounting standards, company law, and good corporation tax knowledge.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to think laterally.
  • Experience working on a wide range of clients.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and familiarity with CCH, Xero, and Sage.
  • Some travel to client sites required; a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle is essential.
