Day-to-day of the role:
- Conduct audit fieldwork both at client premises and in the office, taking full responsibility for all audit fieldwork of the team.
- Prepare client deliverables, including Audit Findings Reports, and build strong relationships with clients.
- Plan assignments, including budgeting and using analytical review.
- Ensure files are complete for partner review and handle file completion where applicable.
- Supervise, delegate, and review the work of Assistants as appropriate.
- Actively involve in the professional and personal development of junior team members.
- Prepare accounts under FRS102 and 1A and basic corporation tax computations.
- Identify, research, and help resolve technical issues.
- Develop a strong commercial understanding of clients' businesses and any developments within them.
- Work collaboratively with other service lines across the business to benefit clients, referring opportunities where relevant and minimising risks.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- ACA/ACCA part or fully qualified.
- Minimum of 3 years recent audit experience in an accountancy practice.
- Up-to-date knowledge of auditing and accounting standards, company law, and good corporation tax knowledge.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to think laterally.
- Experience working on a wide range of clients.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and familiarity with CCH, Xero, and Sage.
- Some travel to client sites required; a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle is essential.
