Dcoded. are currently partnered with a leading financial SaaS business who are searching for a seasoned Java engineer who thrives on building high-performance systems and wants to shape technical direction while remaining close to the code. Were searching for someone who combines deep engineering expertise with leadership that inspires.

This isnt a role for someone who wants to sit in endless meetings - its a position for someone who loves solving hard problems, mentoring others through code, and driving quality in every release.

What Youll Be Doing:

  • Lead by Doing: Youll actively contribute to the codebase - writing clean, well-tested Java (Java 17+), while setting the standard for technical excellence.
  • Architect Solutions: Youll own the design of scalable, secure systems that perform under pressure.
  • Steer the Team: From technical direction to architectural guidance, your influence will shape how the team works and delivers.
  • Review & Mentor: Your feedback will help engineers grow, with an emphasis on clean code, smart design, and continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Youll work closely with Product and UX to ensure engineering solutions align with business goals.
  • Support Others: With a few direct reports, youll help mentor and develop team members while keeping your focus on tech.

What Were Looking For:

Essentials:

  • Expert-level Java experience (Java 17+)
  • Strong grasp of Spring Boot, REST APIs & Microservices
  • Deep architectural knowledge, especially around performance and scalability
  • Solid RDBMS experience (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and modern CI/CD pipelines
  • Proven ability to write clean, testable code

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with Kotlin or interest in working with it
  • Messaging tools like Kafka or RabbitMQ
  • DevOps awareness Terraform, Ansible, AWS/GCP/Azure
  • Exposure to NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis)
  • Front-end understanding (React or similar) is a nice extra
