Belcan is recruiting on a Permanent basis for a Desktop Support Engineer at our South West offices.

Full Time working from our Cheltenham GL51 or Bristol BS34 sites.

Some travel requirements within the UK & Europe on occasion maybe required.

A Desktop Support Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our organisation's IT infrastructure (500 approx), particularly at the user level.

You should possess good problem-solving skills and high-level interpersonal skills.

Experience

  • Technical support, providing first- and second-line support for hardware, software, and network issues on desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
  • Support end-users in person, via phone, or through remote tools, ensuring minimal disruption to their work.
  • Installing and maintaining hardware and computer peripherals
  • Installing and upgrading operating systems and computer software
  • Incident Management: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS), applications, printers, and connectivity.
  • Travelling to site to provide proactive and reactive IT Support when required
  • Ability to solve complex hardware and software issues
  • Asset Management: Track and manage IT assets, including inventory of devices and software licenses.
  • Documentation: Maintain records of issues, solutions, and procedures for future reference and knowledge sharing.
