Private Client Solicitor - working part from home, part office based, with Monthly Travel to Bristol or Gloucester

An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a Private Client Solicitor to join a progressive and forward-thinking legal firm based in the Bristol/Gloucester area. This full-time position offers part remote working (Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm), with the requirement to attend the Bristol or Gloucester office at times.

Role Purpose

We are looking for a qualified solicitor to be the key point of contact for all Private Client matters, with a focus on work referred internally and enquiries primarily relating to the Gloucester office. This role demands a high level of client care, professionalism, and proactive case management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload of Private Client files from inception to completion.

  • Act as the main contact for Private Client enquiries across all offices, particularly Gloucester.

  • Handle a full range of Private Client work, including:

    • Wills

    • Probate

    • Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs)

    • Trusts and Estate Planning

    • Inheritance Tax matters

    • Court of Protection cases

  • Work to strict deadlines in a supportive but fast-paced environment.

  • Collaborate effectively with support staff and other departments.

  • Provide support and occasional travel to other offices as needed.

  • Liaise with the Legal Director on financial targets, budgeting, and training opportunities.

  • Ensure billing aligns with agreed targets.

  • Deliver exceptional client service and act in a timely, proactive, and efficient manner.

  • Contribute to the growth and development of the department through business development activities.

Requirements

Education & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Solicitor (SRA regulated) or Fellow of CILEx (FCILEX)

  • Minimum of 2 years PQE in Private Client work

  • STEP qualification (preferred but not essential)

Skills & Experience:

  • Solid experience in managing a diverse Private Client caseload

  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Comfortable working remotely and using legal practice management systems
