Operations Plant Manager – Bristol

An established industrial manufacturer is seeking an experienced Operations Plant Manager to lead day-to-day operations at a key production site in the Bristol area. This role is ideal for professionals from sectors such as food, chemicals, water, plastics, recycling, or oil and gas.

You will provide strong leadership to ensure operational excellence, team development, safety, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure the site runs safely, efficiently, and sustainably

  • Foster a positive, high-performing team culture with a focus on achieving key operational goals

  • Provide strong SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment and Quality) leadership through audits, training, and best practice implementation

  • Manage production, maintenance, and resources to achieve performance and budget targets

  • Inspire and support the development of operational teams to ensure they are skilled, capable, and engaged

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise processes and boost productivity

  • Take full responsibility for site infrastructure, security, emergency systems, and asset management

About You

  • HNC or HND in a relevant subject, or equivalent practical experience in an operations leadership role

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence across all levels

  • Demonstrated safety-first mindset and deep knowledge of Health and Safety procedures and ISO standards

  • Proven leadership ability with a focus on team development and operational success

  • Proactive and capable decision-maker, especially under pressure

  • NEBOSH General Certificate is desirable; support can be provided to achieve this
