Mission Critical Mechanical Lead
Location: UK (Flexible on location/Hybrid)

Are you a mechanical building services expert ready to take a lead role on some of the most complex and high-profile data centre projects in the UK and beyond? I'm currently working with a leading global consultancy, known for its innovative solutions across mission critical sectors, who are seeking a Mission Critical Mechanical Lead to join their expanding team.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of critical infrastructure projects while working within a collaborative, flexible, and people-focused environment. You'll be a key driver of technical excellence, client development, project delivery, and internal capability building across the business.
What you'll be doing:

  • Client Development: Build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders within client data centre project teams, while nurturing existing partnerships.
  • Technical Leadership: Develop and maintain technical design standards, contribute thought leadership within national technical forums, and help set the direction for future services.
  • Team Development: Support and upskill mechanical engineers across the business, acting as a central point of contact for technical expertise within the mission critical sector.
  • Innovation and Market Insight: Stay at the forefront of industry trends, supply chain developments, and competitor activity to provide strategic insights and opportunities for growth.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with architecture, engineering, sales, and project management teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Project Management: Lead on the delivery of multi-disciplinary designs for mission critical clients, ensuring alignment with financial and strategic objectives.
  • Reporting: Produce regular updates on technical activities, supplier engagement, market trends, and project performance.

What we're looking for:

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (Chartered status preferred).
  • Deep technical knowledge of mechanical cooling systems and building services design for data centres.
  • A proven track record of delivering large and complex projects (100m+) in the mission critical sector.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills, with the confidence to present internally and externally at conferences.
  • A well-established network within the mission critical and data centre sector.
  • A passion for innovation, collaboration, and continual improvement.
