- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and measurements to plan fabrication and fitting tasks
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join metal components and structures
- Operate fabrication machinery such as guillotines, press brakes, drills, grinders, and other workshop equipment
- Assemble and fit parts into subassemblies and final assemblies according to specifications
- Carry out welding, drilling, grinding, and finishing as required
- Secure and align components using fasteners such as bolts, rivets, and screws
- Check dimensions and tolerances of parts using precision measuring instruments
- Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
- Assist with site fitting and installation of fabricated components when required
- Maintain tools, equipment, and the workshop in a clean and orderly condition
- Follow company Health & Safety policies and safe working practices at all times
- Time-served or experienced in fabrication and fitting work
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings
- Practical, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail with good organisational skills
- Health and safety conscious with a strong work ethic
- Proven background in fabrication, fitting, or mechanical engineering
- Practical experience in a workshop or fabrication environment
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
- Good communication and time management skills
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks
- Welding qualifications (MIG/TIG/Stick)
- Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain – training may be provided)
- Experience in both workshop and on-site installation work
