Pertemps Bristol Technical is recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established engineering firm and the largest generator specialist in the South West. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and hands-on individual to join their team as a Fabricator / Fitter at their Warmley facility.Working within a busy fabrication workshop and yard, you’ll be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and fitting components to support a wide range of engineering projects. This role will suit someone with proven fabrication experience who enjoys varied, practical work and contributing to a collaborative team.Location: Warmley, Bristol (BS30)Hours: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)Contract: Temporary (6 Months)Salary: £16.00 Per HourIndustry: Engineering / Fabrication / ManufacturingKey Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and measurements to plan fabrication and fitting tasks
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join metal components and structures
  • Operate fabrication machinery such as guillotines, press brakes, drills, grinders, and other workshop equipment
  • Assemble and fit parts into subassemblies and final assemblies according to specifications
  • Carry out welding, drilling, grinding, and finishing as required
  • Secure and align components using fasteners such as bolts, rivets, and screws
  • Check dimensions and tolerances of parts using precision measuring instruments
  • Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
  • Assist with site fitting and installation of fabricated components when required
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and the workshop in a clean and orderly condition
  • Follow company Health & Safety policies and safe working practices at all times
About You
  • Time-served or experienced in fabrication and fitting work
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Practical, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail with good organisational skills
  • Health and safety conscious with a strong work ethic
Essential Requirements
  • Proven background in fabrication, fitting, or mechanical engineering
  • Practical experience in a workshop or fabrication environment
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks
Desirable
  • Welding qualifications (MIG/TIG/Stick)
  • Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain – training may be provided)
  • Experience in both workshop and on-site installation work
