Join our Payroll Team as a Payroll Assistant and play a key role in delivering high-quality payroll services to a diverse portfolio of clients. Day-to-day of the role:- Process end-to-end payroll for clients on a monthly basis, including accurate calculation of salaries, deductions, and statutory payments such as wage increments, overtime, annual leave, public holiday pay, and sick pay.
- Undertake year-end processes including the preparation of P60s and P11Ds.
- Liaise directly with clients to troubleshoot ad hoc payroll issues.
- Perform pay calculation checks for the Audit Team.
- Set up new payrolls and pension schemes, ensuring accurate auto-enrolment pension contributions and submissions.
- Maintain up-to-date workflow reporting.
- Analyse and report on payroll data.
- A-Level standard education or equivalent (minimum).
- Either hold or be prepared to work towards the AAT Level 2 (minimum).
- 1-2 years’ experience in a payroll position (in-house or bureau).
- Fluent and proficient with Microsoft packages; experience with payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, Paycircle Payroll, BrightPay) is beneficial.
- At least 1 year’s experience working within a case management system, such as Sage or Xero.
- Resilient individual with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to prioritise and organise workload to meet deadlines.
