Join our Payroll Team as a Payroll Assistant and play a key role in delivering high-quality payroll services to a diverse portfolio of clients. This position offers the opportunity to handle end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring compliance and client satisfaction. Day-to-day of the role:
  • Process end-to-end payroll for clients on a monthly basis, including accurate calculation of salaries, deductions, and statutory payments such as wage increments, overtime, annual leave, public holiday pay, and sick pay.
  • Undertake year-end processes including the preparation of P60s and P11Ds.
  • Liaise directly with clients to troubleshoot ad hoc payroll issues.
  • Perform pay calculation checks for the Audit Team.
  • Set up new payrolls and pension schemes, ensuring accurate auto-enrolment pension contributions and submissions.
  • Maintain up-to-date workflow reporting.
  • Analyse and report on payroll data.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A-Level standard education or equivalent (minimum).
  • Either hold or be prepared to work towards the AAT Level 2 (minimum).
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a payroll position (in-house or bureau).
  • Fluent and proficient with Microsoft packages; experience with payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, Paycircle Payroll, BrightPay) is beneficial.
  • At least 1 year’s experience working within a case management system, such as Sage or Xero.
  • Resilient individual with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise workload to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative team member, ambitious, curious, and eager to grow knowledge and invest in others.
