We are working with a Bristol City Council who are looking for Transport Project Manager to take the lead on delivering innovative and impactful transport and infrastructure projects. They’re looking for a driven and experienced professional with a passion for making a difference through sustainable transport solutions.

Location: Bristol City Council 

Set-up: Hybrid – 2-3 days per week

Rate: £30.28/hour via umbrellla inside IR35

Duration: Initial 12-months, potential extension

Hours: Full-time position

Responsibilities include:

  • Proven track record of managing complex transport or infrastructure projects within a public sector or multidisciplinary environment
  • Strong technical knowledge in transport planning, engineering, or related fields, with the ability to provide expert advice to senior stakeholders
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and communication, with the ability to tailor information to different audiences
  • Financial and budget management experience, including forecasting, monitoring and reporting on large-scale project expenditure
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, including mentoring, coordinating consultants, and promoting a positive working culture
  • Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of transport projects, ensuring alignment with council policies and strategic objectives

Requirements:

  • Local Government experience required for initial shortlisting, then thereafter at the client’s discretion
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a specialist technical area, including delivery of high-value or high-profile transport or infrastructure projects
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work semi-autonomously, manage budgets and risk, and lead projects to time and within financial constraints
