Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Bristol (preferred) or Swindon | Hybrid Working Available
Salary: 50,000 - 65,000 + Package
Sector: Infrastructure / Heavy Civils (Network Rail CP7 Framework)

An industry-leading main contractor is looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a major programme of works for Network Rail, as part of the CP7 investment cycle. This is a great opportunity for a commercially driven SQS to join a secure and well-structured business offering hybrid working, a strong pipeline of work, and long-term career growth.

The Role:
You will take a lead commercial role across a portfolio of civils and infrastructure projects, valued between 500k and 40m. Reporting into the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing commercial performance, subcontractor relationships, and client liaison across the full project lifecycle.

The preference is for the successful candidate to be based in Bristol, where the core commercial team operates, though Swindon will also be considered. Hybrid working is available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the commercial function across allocated projects
  • Lead subcontract procurement, contract administration, and cost control
  • Manage change control, early warnings, and compensation events under NEC contracts
  • Prepare and present accurate cost/value reports and financial forecasts
  • Mentor junior commercial staff and support their development
  • Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders


Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience in a Senior QS or strong QS role within heavy civils or infrastructure
  • In-depth knowledge and application of NEC contracts
  • Track record of successfully managing commercial delivery across multiple projects
  • Excellent financial, contractual, and communication skills
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar discipline
