Academics Bristol is looking for a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to join the inclusive and nurturing team at a mainstream primary school in North Bristol (BS7). This is a rewarding opportunity to support children with special educational needs and disabilities, helping them to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will play a vital role in raising achievement, promoting independence, and ensuring every child feels valued and included.
Location: Bristol - BS7
Salary: 95 - 115 per day, depending on experience
Contract: Term time only, Monday to Friday
The Role
As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Support individual pupils and small groups to access learning in line with their education plans.
- Provide encouragement, guidance and feedback to promote progress and confidence.
- Assist in preparing and organising classroom resources to create an effective learning environment.
- Contribute to assessments by observing and recording pupil development.
- Support pastoral care and wellbeing, including supervision at break and lunchtimes.
- Provide personal and social support, including some aspects of medical or therapeutic care (following training).

We are looking for someone
- With previous experience in a childcare, school or SEND setting.
- Enthusiastic about motivating children and fostering positive attitudes to learning and behaviour.
- Able to build supportive, caring relationships that raise pupils' self-esteem and independence.
