Class Teacher (Year 5) - Maternity Cover

Academics Bristol is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Key Stage 2 Teacher to join a friendly and motivated mainstream primary school in Shirehampton on a maternity cover contract. This is an excellent opportunity to teach in a supportive and inclusive environment where you will inspire children to achieve their very best.

You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning, ensuring pupils experience a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum.

Location: Shirehampton - BS11

Salary: 181.90 - 282.10 per day, depending on experience [Paid to scale]

Contract: Full-time, Term Time, Fixed-term Maternity cover

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and evaluate lessons that enable all pupils to make strong progress.
• Maintain a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment.
• Assess, record and report on pupil achievement and progress.
• Set clear targets for pupils based on prior attainment.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and parents to ensure positive outcomes.
• Implement effective behaviour management strategies.
• Lead on an agreed subject area, monitoring teaching and learning, supporting colleagues and managing resources.

About you

We are looking for a Key Stage 2 Teacher who is:

• A qualified teacher (QTS) with successful experience in Key Stage 2.
• An excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations for all learners.
• Knowledgeable in a range of strategies to raise achievement and promote inclusion.
• Skilled in positive behaviour management.
• Able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Committed to continuous professional development.
