As a Residential Support Worker you will help the school to create a caring, supportive and safe atmosphere for the young people where they can enjoy learning and social activities. You will work with within a team environment and will have plenty of opportunities to learn new skills and grow your career.
The shifts required for Residential Support Workers are: 7.30am to 10am and 3.30pm-10pm - Monday - Friday - with some options to work weekend shifts. 7:30am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm and 7:30am - 10pm
Skills Required for Residential Support Workers
First-class communication skills are essential in the role, along with sensitivity, integrity and adaptability.
Experience of working with children and young people within a health or social care environment, including personal care and moving and handling (training can be provided for the right candidate)
Working knowledge of risk assessment practice and the ability to respond effectively to differing demands when required.
Desired is experience of working with children and young adults with diverse SEN Conditions and medical needs including potentially physical needs
Previous experience in a similar role
You will need to have a DBS registered to the update system which caters for children and adults as the age range for the young people based at the school are aged 5-19.
