We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Sous Chef to join the culinary team at our luxury boutique hotel in the heart of the Cotswolds. This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative chef who thrives in a fresh, seasonal, and quality-driven kitchen, supporting the Head Chef in delivering exceptional dining experiences.
About the Role:
As Senior Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in leading the kitchen, ensuring consistency and excellence across all menus from the restaurant and afternoon teas to private dining and weddings. You will be hands-on in service, inspire the team, and step up confidently in the Head Chefs absence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head Chef in menu development, with a focus on local, seasonal produce.
- Lead, train, and motivate junior chefs, fostering a positive and professional kitchen culture.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth service and impeccable standards.
- Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene, and allergen standards.
- Contribute ideas and creativity to keep the dining offering innovative and memorable.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a quality hotel or restaurant.
- Passion for seasonal British produce and modern, elegant presentation.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to nurture a small team.
- Calm, organised, and able to thrive in a busy kitchen environment.
