Area Contract Manager - Commercial Cleaning

Location: London & Kent
Reporting To: Managing Director
Salary: Up to £45,000

An established and reputable provider of grounds maintenance and communal cleaning services is seeking a dynamic and experienced Area Contract Manager to oversee a portfolio of commercial cleaning contracts across London and Kent.

This is a senior operational role with full accountability for service delivery, team leadership, client satisfaction, and contract performance.

Key Responsibilities Operational Excellence & Health and Safety
  • Manage and deliver high-quality cleaning services across multiple sites in line with contractual and client expectations.

  • Promote a proactive health & safety culture, ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation and internal procedures.

  • Contribute to environmental and community engagement initiatives.

Strategic Planning & Service Development
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve contract efficiency and performance.

  • Use KPIs and data analysis to identify trends, improve service quality, and support continuous improvement.

  • Identify and pursue opportunities for operational innovation and service enhancement.

Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong, trust-based relationships.

  • Ensure client requirements are met and exceeded through excellent communication and service delivery.

  • Represent the business professionally with all stakeholders, fostering a reputation for reliability and quality.

Leadership & Workforce Management
  • Lead and develop cleaning teams, ensuring clear communication of expectations and goals.

  • Recruit, train, and retain high-performing staff, encouraging a positive and productive working culture.

  • Ensure team structures are effective and resourced appropriately for service demands.

Commercial & Financial Responsibility
  • Hold full profit and loss accountability for a portfolio of contracts.

  • Monitor financial performance, implement cost controls, and ensure profitability.

  • Support the business in achieving commercial targets and identifying new revenue opportunities.

Candidate Profile Experience
  • Proven track record in the commercial cleaning industry, ideally across multi-site operations.

  • Experience working with both public and private sector clients.

  • Skilled in contract mobilisation, tendering, and performance management.

Qualifications
  • Recognised management qualification and BICSc certification (required).

  • IOSH or NEBOSH Health & Safety qualification (preferred).
