Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Secondary School, BromleyStart Date: Immediate | Full-Time, Long-Term (until end of academic year)

A vibrant and supportive Secondary School in Bromley is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team immediately. This is a full-time, long-term position running through to the end of the current academic year.

Role Overview:As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and social development of students aged 11-16. You will work closely with class teachers and the wider school team to provide tailored support to students, including those with additional needs, to help them access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in and out of the classroom, either one-to-one or in small groups

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering effective lessons and managing classroom behaviour

  • Help prepare learning materials and maintain a positive learning environment

  • Encourage student engagement and participation

  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff

  • Contribute to the overall care and welfare of students throughout the school day

Requirements:

  • Previous child-based experience is essential, preferably in a school or educational setting

  • A valid DBS check on the Update Service is required

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

  • Flexibility, reliability, and a proactive attitude

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting students with SEN or behavioural needs

  • Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. Level 2/3 TA qualification, CACHE, etc.)

Pay:Competitive daily rate, dependent on experience.
