About the Role

SEND Inclusion Support are working with a specialist SEND school in Bromley that supports primary and secondary pupils with autism and complex needs. We are seeking Teaching Assistants of all levels, including experienced HLTAs, to join our friendly and supportive team.

Role Overview

We are looking for Teaching Assistants at all levels, from entry-level TAs to experienced HLTAs, to support pupils across the school. Responsibilities may vary depending on experience and qualifications, but all roles involve providing individual or small-group support, helping pupils access the curriculum, and contributing to a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.

HLTAs will also have opportunities to lead learning sessions, assist with planning, and take on higher-level classroom responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with autism and complex needs across primary and secondary age groups.

  • Deliver individualised learning support in line with pupil support plans.

  • Assist pupils with communication, social interaction, sensory needs, and personal care where required.

  • Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage engagement and confidence.

  • Support behaviour management strategies and maintain a structured, safe environment.

  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to ensure consistent, high-quality support.

  • For HLTAs: plan and deliver learning activities, take responsibility for small-group sessions, and contribute to curriculum development.

  • Monitor and report on pupil progress to inform planning and review meetings.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting pupils with autism or complex needs 

  • Calm, patient, and empathetic approach.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Flexibility, resilience, and a proactive approach.

  • Relevant qualifications in education, SEND, childcare, or related fields are advantageous but not essential.
