The Opportunity:

A nurturing and ambitious primary school in the London Borough of Bromley is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join their supportive team from September 2025. Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach engaging, purposeful lessons that build on prior learning and support a smooth transition from EYFS into the Key Stage 1 framework.

  • Track pupil attainment and progress rigorously using a range of formative and summative assessment tools.

  • Establish a classroom climate that promotes independence, respect, and a love of learning.

  • Work collaboratively with teaching partners, support staff, and leaders to maintain a consistent and effective curriculum across the year group.

  • Communicate regularly and positively with families to foster strong home-school partnerships.

  • Participate in school life beyond the classroom by supporting events, initiatives, and enrichment opportunities.

Person Specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and eligibility to work in the UK.

  • Sound understanding of Key Stage 1 teaching and learning, including the developmental needs of Year 1 pupils.

  • A creative and adaptable approach to lesson planning, with high expectations for all learners.

  • Skilled in behaviour management and committed to building a positive, inclusive classroom culture.

  • Effective communicator with a team-oriented mindset and willingness to contribute to the wider school community.

  • Reflective, open to feedback, and committed to ongoing professional learning and development.

  • Passionate about early education and its potential to shape confident, curious, and capable learners.
