Adults Social Worker, Learning Disabilities Team - London Borough of Bromley

Up to £32 per hour

Are you an experienced Adults Social Worker passionate about making a difference in the lives of adults with learning disabilities and/or autism? The London Borough of Bromley is seeking a dedicated and skilled Social Worker to join our friendly, yet hard-working, Learning Disabilities Team.

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to undertake rewarding care management work, supporting individuals over the age of 18 who are in need of community care services under the Care Act 2014. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Completing strength-based Care Act assessments
  • Conducting Mental Capacity Assessments (MCAs)
  • Occasional management of duty
  • Carrying out annual statutory reviews
  • Working with Continuing Healthcare (CHC) and Court of Protection (COP) cases
  • Handling safeguarding enquiries
  • Managing a diverse caseload of longer-term care work

Our team also provides vital support to unpaid carers, ensuring a holistic approach to care within the community.

What We're Looking For:

The ideal candidate will be adept at working within relevant legislation concerning adults with learning disabilities. You'll possess:

  • Proven ability to assess and review individuals receiving care and support.

  • Excellent report writing skills and strong computer literacy.

  • Meticulous record-keeping abilities - a vital part of this role.

  • Outstanding communication skills, central to engaging effectively with service users, families, and other professionals.
