MONDAY - FRIDAY: 06:05 - 14:25

£12.22 PER HOUR

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Trainee Butcher to join our well-established client in Livingston.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay and room to grow and progress.

There are no evening or weekend shifts required.

Previous experience with knife skills would be an advantage, particularly for candidates who have previously worked in a similar environment.

Day to Day Duties

Your duties as a Trainee Butcher will involve but not be limited to:

• Learn how to use a knife to trim beef to specification
• Learn how to visually inspect product for contamination and to remove this from the product
• Develop a knowledge of product specifications
• Learn how to maintain a sharp knife
• Manually handle product and product in trays
• Support the department with general production operative duties
• Undertake and complete Level 2 SVQ Modern Apprenticeship qualification in relevant subject area

Essential Skills

As a Trainee Butcher you will need to:

• Have a desire and will to learn
• Be hands on, motivated and confident
• Have excellent organisation and communication skills

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience using knives
• Background working with food preparation or production

Training

• Internal training provided
• Food hygiene and health & safety training
• Industry related training and ongoing support throughout
