Role: Plumber
Location: Buckingham
Hours: Full time (8am–4pm or 9am–5pm), 35 hours a week
Salary: ÂŁ18.20 per hour

An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Plumber to join our client’s Estates & Facilities team. You’ll support the safe, efficient operation of a diverse estate, delivering a first-class service to staff, customers and visitors.

We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation in Buckingham with a collaborative, “one team” approach across Estates. You’ll join a friendly maintenance team where your customer focus and pride in workmanship really matter.

Duties of a Plumber:
- Reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to hot/cold-water systems, sanitation, drainage and heating plant
- Diagnose and repair leaks, blockages, failures, valves, pumps, TMVs, cylinders and associated controls
- Install/modify pipework, sanitaryware and fixtures to current standards
- Complete condition surveys and produce clear reports for the Team Leader
- Work safely: RAMS, permits to work, isolation and H&S compliance
- Maintain accurate job records, parts and store requisitions
- Liaise with colleagues, contractors and specialist engineers to complete works
- Join the emergency call-out rota (including some out-of-hours) and support key site events (occasional weekends)
- Support the wider Estates team with a “one team” approach
What we would like from you:
- NVQ/City & Guilds in Plumbing or equivalent experience
- Strong track record in maintenance, repair and small installations on building plumbing/heating systems
- Sound knowledge of Water Regulations/Legionella awareness and safe isolation
- Comfortable using a tablet/handheld for jobs, drawings and reports; clear written reporting
- Great people skills, customer-focused, able to prioritise in a busy environment
- Able to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Full UK driving licence
- Willing to join an out-of-hours call-out rota
Desirable:
- Gas Safe registration and experience with gas appliances/plant
- Experience improving PPM regimes and asset information
- Recognised H&S qualification (e.g., IOSH Working/Managing Safely)
- Proficient with MS Office
- Evidence of ongoing CPD
