Employment Type: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
Shift Pattern: Rotating Days, Afternoons, and Nights
Shift Allowance: Additional 17% on top of hourly rate for rotating shifts
Pay Rate:Up to16.88 per hour (Dependent on experience)

We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanical Fitter to join our reputable clientin maintaining, assembling, and overhauling industrial machinery and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Fitter:

  • Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance and servicing of mechanical systems and components.

  • Diagnose and repair faults in mechanical systems, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and hydraulic/pneumatic equipment.

  • Dismantle, inspect, and replace worn or damaged mechanical parts using tools and machinery.

  • Support machinery overhauls, upgrades, and new installations.

  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety legislation and company procedures.

  • Maintain detailed maintenance records and report recurring mechanical issues.

The Mechanical Fitter should have:

  • Essential:

    • Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a manufacturing, engineering, or heavy industrial environment.

    • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, and rotating machinery.

    • Ability to read and interpret technical mechanical drawings and schematics.

    • Time-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or Fitting.

      • Familiarity with basic welding, fabrication, or machining processes is advantageous.

Personal Attributes:

  • Practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Able to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Comfortable working to deadlines and under pressure during breakdowns.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices.

  • Willingness to work rotating shifts and occasional overtime.
