Management Accountant

Based: Burnley

Salary: up to £40k + benefits including study support, healthcare, life cover & progression

My client are an expanding SME in the manufacturing sector looking for a Management Accountant to join the team. Business are continuing to grow, this role will sit as part of a small finance function reporting directly to the FD. We require someone who is ambitious and keen to grow/learn under a strong mentor

Role:

  • Preparing Management Accounts for the business including analysis and reconciliations
  • Assisting in preparation of annual Statutory Accounts and annual audit duties
  • Preparing budgets, forecasts and variance analysis
  • Reviewing trial balance and reconciliation from junior staff members, acting as a mentor
  • Preparing and submitting the VAT return
  • Processing of weekly and monthly payroll for submission including reconciliation of all reports and preparation of journals.
  • Preparation of ad hoc reports for the Finance Director
  • Entering receipts/payments and carry out bank reconciliations
  • Weekly reporting of creditors and debtors
  • Assisting with any other finance duties in the absence of team members

Experience:

  • ACCA/CIMA studying (or AAT qualified with experience in a Management Accounts role)
  • At least 3+ years experience in management accounts
  • Experience within an SME business/small team highly desirable
  • Hands on approach able to work at all levels in finance
  • Keen to develop & grow in a number 2 role to the FD
