Management Accountant
Based: Burnley
Salary: up to £40k + benefits including study support, healthcare, life cover & progression
My client are an expanding SME in the manufacturing sector looking for a Management Accountant to join the team. Business are continuing to grow, this role will sit as part of a small finance function reporting directly to the FD. We require someone who is ambitious and keen to grow/learn under a strong mentor
Role:
- Preparing Management Accounts for the business including analysis and reconciliations
- Assisting in preparation of annual Statutory Accounts and annual audit duties
- Preparing budgets, forecasts and variance analysis
- Reviewing trial balance and reconciliation from junior staff members, acting as a mentor
- Preparing and submitting the VAT return
- Processing of weekly and monthly payroll for submission including reconciliation of all reports and preparation of journals.
- Preparation of ad hoc reports for the Finance Director
- Entering receipts/payments and carry out bank reconciliations
- Weekly reporting of creditors and debtors
- Assisting with any other finance duties in the absence of team members
Experience:
- ACCA/CIMA studying (or AAT qualified with experience in a Management Accounts role)
- At least 3+ years experience in management accounts
- Experience within an SME business/small team highly desirable
- Hands on approach able to work at all levels in finance
- Keen to develop & grow in a number 2 role to the FD
